(The subject is not a mis-spelling of 'music'...)
Just got back from a weekend in Newcastle, which included going to the
last night of the Musik Awards tour that Faithless were headlining. Full
review of that to follow, once I've written it, but in brief it was
incredible.
This morning for something to read on the train back home I bought the
latest issue of Musik magazine, with Maxi & Sister Bliss on the cover,
and with a cover CD that included (among 9 other tracks) a live
performance recording of "Take The Long Way Home" which is pretty good
as well.
Anyway, I discovered a _lot_ of things in the Faithless interview that I
didn't know before. I don't know whether it's just that I don't keep up
with the Internet news very well, or whether this will be news to other
people on the list as well. For example, Jamie has now officially left
the band, and Rollo no longer performs live, leaving Maxi & Sister Bliss
as the two central figures of the band.
As the band themselves said last night, they're taking a whole year out
(the year 2000) in order to rest, improve their private lives, and to
record the third album, which they reckon will be much less "depressed"
than "Sunday 8pm".
I can post larger chunks of this interview if need be, but stop me if
you've all heard this before...?
Stuart.
