Besides the fact that it damages the value of the commercial property of
Faithless, and it's illegal, it's mostly the fact that it spoils all the
fun. What's the point of hunting down promos, and eagerly awaiting the
full release, if you can just download an MP3 of it? No fun at all.
Perhaps most importantly though, I've seen other tracks (not Faithless)
that were due for commercial release but then the proper releases were
cancelled when it was realised that the tracks were already too widely
available over the Internet, so fewer people were going to bother buying
the CD, meaning it would have sold at a loss and damaged the band.
Mike; please don't rip Faithless off. I'm really keen to hear the mixes,
but I'd rather wait.
