Wanted to chime in on the "Outrospective" CD. I've had the advance promo
for over a month so have been enjoying it for awhile and it gives it time
to sink in. I'd have to say at this point, it is behind "Sunday 8PM" which
is still my favorite. And although I think the high points of "Reverence"
are higher than they are on the new CD, as a whole I think "Outrospective"
is more consistent.

So brief track by track:

> From: Erik Johansson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
> Nice to get your opinions on the album! Here's Mine:
 > Donny X
I agree I think "The Garden" is a much better opener as it is so beautiful.
"Donny X" is nothing more than an intro, not much of a song otherwise.
Certainly nothing I'd play outside the context of the CD.

> > Not Enuff Love- This is one of the definite top tracks of
> the slbum.

Agreed. My personal favorite, Maxi's dark raps interrupting the beautiful
melodies of the sampled? vocals. Fantastic track.

> > We Come 1-

I agree with many, not near as good as "God Is A DJ" as a leadoff single
but I seem to like this track more than many.

 > Crazy English Summer- Agreed. Zoe Johnston is a brilliant singer.

I can't get enough of Zoe's voice. My dream would be a Rollo produced solo
CD.
This song hit me immediately and may just be my favorite. I can totally
relate to the lyrics. After being with someone for eight years words like
"sometimes I feel like I'm glad to be free, sometimes I just want your arms
around me" describe the emotional rollarcoaster you sometimes ride. And
I'll be damned if these Michigan summers don't bring her back on my mind :)
When you have an emotional connection to lyrics, when they speak to you it
takes a song to another level and that's what this song does. Brilliant.

> > Muhammed Ali-

I find this about the funkiest groove Rollo/Bliss have ever come up with.
And I mean actual funk, what a funky track.

> > Machines R Us- Actually, I think this song is ok. Sure, its very
repititive as you >say,
> and people who don't like that kind of music will hate "Machines R Us."
> To me, this sound very Kraftwerk-inspired?!

I can see the Kraftwerk thing a bit. I just see this song as more an
interlude. Much like "Donny X" it works OK within the CD but not a track
I'd ever pull the CD out to listen just to this one song.

> > One Step Too Far-

This is another of my faves, I think Dido sounds wonderful floating over
Rollo's production on this. I wish her solo CD had more tracks like this,
more emphasis on electronic sounds. All bets are on, this will be a single
at least in the USA and may land Faithless a legit chart hit, even if it is
on the coattails of Dido's success here.
The promo posters state "featuring We Come 1 and One Step Too Far Featuring
Dido" so I'd bet this is a planned single here.

> > Tarantula-
> Yeah, this is probably the best dance track on the album. Not as good as
> the older Faithless anthems, but still a nice song with a good beat.
> Maybe one of the remixes will be even better?

Yeah this song is screaming for a clasic 10 plus minute Monster Mix. After
the CRAP remixes that came from "We Come 1" this has the best remix
potential.

> Giving Myself Away- To be honest for some reason I haven't played this
song much, don't know why. Need to give it more listens I guess as others
here seem to love it.

> > Code- A nice small filler track, ala "Sunday 8PM".

I treat this more as an intro to "Evergreen" than a proper song. Very
pretty but just filler like is said.

> > Evergreen-
> Not one of the best tracks. Surely Zoe is a very good singer, but that's
> not enough to make it for me.

Oh I love this one too. Again just beautiful vox and music.

> > Liontamer-
> Yes, very good indeed. Almost a club song. This one might be released as
> a single, with some "dancier" versions on it. Cool lyrics too,
> "Liontamers die in pain." (-:

Yeah I could see some mixes of this too. Another good one, like it as well.
