It's likely that the editor is configured to insert the thumbnail.
This can be changed by editing the ADMIN > Config > Image
configuration (DEPRECATED in 4.0.x).

A more powerful mechanism is to provide a special webskin for the HTML
to be inserted when you insert images or files:
