The data type collections in Farcry core only index the contents of the database tables, so you would need to create a collection that indexes the files themselves. I have to be honest and say I haven't looked at the new verity plugin for FC4, so I have no idea if it indexes the files as well as the database content, but, if you were on FC4, this might have been a solution. Sorry thats not a particularly helpful, but hopefully it will head you in the right direction.
