Do you have IIS running on Home premium? When IIS is set up i don't see why the Coldfusion setup will not run. Any errors?
If your local setup is the same as the server you can transfer it all from locally to server. You could duplicate IIS settings, transfer files and db, only difference is that shared hosting will have some restrictions or the need of your host to set up stuff for you. For info about setting up these stuff i would check the adobe and microsoft support sites, not that i don't want to help but it's better you can read the info yourself in once. Personally i think your own server is the best solution, then you can use farcry as the framework and cms for all your projects, transfer non farcry users into farcry users, all with one core (easy maintaining). I hope that deamon will provide the amazon farcry instances soon, then we all can simply rent such instance and you're up and running. If not, then my plan b is: - Buying win 2008 webserver a 600 euro - Buying Coldfusion 8 a 1300 euro You can of course go for free software like linux and railo, openbd, for me it's to much unknown software, as I'm my own admin i need to know the software used in case of problems. - Rent a server at Hertzner a 100 euro a month (worth it) Then you're really up and running :) On Apr 26, 10:31 pm, babray_tx <[email protected]> wrote: > Okay, time to bite the bullet and get this thing moving and the first > step is to ask for some advice.
