I’d start by creating a custom type for
your advertisements. There’s a “How To” on the Farcry site
for this. Then I would create a custom rule to display advertisements. There’s
also a “How To” for custom rules. Gotta love those How To’s!!!

Dynamic Content Type
I'm wondering how to go about creating a new dynamic
content type. I'm looking to create an advertisement object similar to a
news article, only there would be no expiration date and there would be only
one display template. This object could be placed into a container and
the container could be set to randomly choose an advertisement or a specific
advertisement could be selected to be displayed on a page. Any help would
be appreciated.
