Still problems unfortunately To make it easier ;-) everything now is called ncc-farcrytemplate (the datasource, the actual directory, the virtual directory)
What do you define as the "actual directory"? Your farcry app? What is your directory structure?
http://www.ncc.nsw.gov.au/farcry (after farcry/farcry login) gives me a new error: 'The argument DSN passed to function logActivity() is not of type variableName.'
Rename your datasource without a -, ie nccFarCryTemplate. Then change your serverSpecificVars and updateapp.
and http://www.ncc.nsw.gov.au/ncc-farcrytemplate goes to the correct directory (http://www.ncc.nsw.gov.au/applications/ncc-farcrytemplate/www) and serves me a totally blank page
You should never browse to ncc-farcrytemplate/www. Your webserver mapping should point to that location. If your webserver mapping is called ncc-farcrytemplate, then browse to /ncc-farcrytemplate.

To run it anywhere other than the root of the site, I think you have to have a Virtual Directory set up on the server.
The name of your directory should be the same name as in your apps.cfm.
If this is not correct, then you will get errors.

Gday Gary!
The CFMX mapping is hard to test but I think so yes. Yes http://www.ncc.nsw.gov.au/ncc-farcrytemplate activates the same
page
as http://www.ncc.nsw.gov.au/applications/farcrytemplate/www (the only thing I can think of is that I should have named the actual directory ncc-farcrytemplate rather than farcrytemplate)

Can anyone suggest a remedy, or a variable to cfdump that might give some ideas?
Is the CFMX mapping to /farcry created on the remote server and
pointing
at the correct root?
And/Or is the site root correctly mapped to where your farcry application is?
E.g.
Is there a virtual server set up to ncc-farcrytemplate and is it pointing to your ncc-farcrytemplate/www ?
