One thing that would be valuable to me is the ability to restrict the custom types roles can create/edit.
Background:
I am creating a number of CBT courses, using FarCry as the backend. Each assessment question type requires a custom type. By being able to limit which roles have access to which types, I would not have to create a new site/database for each client.
Right now, all the types either show up in the tree, or not at all. To change that, I think I would have to edit the tree (to eliminate creation via right click) and the dmNav overview.
I'm not sure I understand the access restrictions you are after.
In the tree you should be able to set inheritable permissions on a branch -- although this is all types. Alternatively you could check for permission in the relevant custom type methods and present an "access denied" message to roles without the relevant permission.
Are you after something more than these options?
