I had not installed JACK via macports, rather via the package you sent me.
Just installed gtk1, nothing changes. Still the same error.

Yet, I do have gtk.h in Macintosh HD:/opt/local/include/gtk-2.0/gtk/gtk.h
and also in in Macintosh HD:/opt/local/include/gtk-1.2/gtk/gtk.h
