Hi Gert,
An initiative that I'm currently working on is aimed at replacing the
current Swing-based administrative interface with a web-based alternative.
You can read more about the planned features and see a mockup here:

implementation is Adobe Flex, the code for which is written in MXML and
Actionscript. I wrote up some of my thoughts as I was doing tool comparisons
here: http://fedora-commons.org/confluence/x/HgJ2 if you're interested. In
the end we decided to go with Flex because it provides a powerful
development environment which takes care of cross-browser concerns and
because Adobe's Flash player (on which Flex applications run) is widely
available.
