Yea - the wiki is a nightmare itself, tbh.

You see the work draft somewhere, it should tell you that this isn't
finished.

I've never looked at this in my life. I don't know if this has been
vetted by the FPC - it looks more like some Java packagers coming
together.

This is the one I would refer to. All the Packaging pages on the wiki
are maintained by the Fedora packaging committee.

So, the issue here seems to be "how do I know which one to follow?" -
this is a common issue on the web tbh, too much information - but how
does one decide what a good source of information is? I see two
solutions. One is experience - when I began, I didn't know either. Now
that I've been around for a while, I know what pages the FPC does, and
in my head, these are the official documents. The second solution is
simply to ask someone. This brings us back to the mentoring
discussion..
