John,

I understand your position, but the issue you present is rather
different.

Due to whatever reason you decide yourselve to wait for a Dutch
translation. The writer of this book is writing it in English.
Ofcourse it has to do with patience., but why should i be patient. The
book is there. Its like 200KM away from me...

I can literally drive to the UK, buy a kindle there, and then download
the book and drive back. No one is stopping me
from doing that. Except the book will cost about 500 euros then. Im
still from Holland then, and ill still have the book.

So, why then, cant i just download it from home instead, where i have a
kindle already....

I know the reason, the sole reason is money...They dont want me to pay
in pounds, as that way they cant charge me twice as
much in Euro's. Again, i dont care about the money, ill get the book
anyways, its the principal that matters.

And because they publishers are too stubborn to understand that, im
downloading it, and paying for it when it gets released.

Seems perfectly fair to me.

Martijn,

What about the Dutch translation then?

I have to wait some more than februari 13th for that, as I prefer
reading it in Dutch first.

As far as I can see, the only reason people being 'pushed' into illegal
downloads is their own lack of patience. That makes illegal reading
rather a 'drawing (Pulling) towards' than a 'pushing into' for me.

In the past, the waiting was part of building up the expectations and
added to the experience of reading.

Best
John Marin

being done now is the old fashioned way, and is virtually pushing people
into the illegal downloads.
