Martijn, By downloading illegal copies you don't make a point, and companies won't get 'aware'. Though I completely understand your way of thinking, this isn't the way to go. And as Paul stated, I must agree that this is not a very smart move to admit on this list (which includes the rights holder) that you have downloaded an illegal version of the book.
