I feel bad to point out issues in the work since the books are fantastic
but...
At the end of 'a kingdom besieged' Child asks Belog for an orange, he
reaches at his ever present bag and it wasn't there.
When Amirantha is trying to banish Child and Belog, Belog throws an orange
out of his bag, and later talks about the rift in the bottom. but, he didn't
have one.

Welcome to the world of overediting. I must have cut the line earlier where he
figured out how to do the rift thing. There was a lot of stuff that I juggled
trying to demonstrate they were slowly learning their human counterpart's
stuff, climaxed at the scene when Nakor tells Miranda to stop trying and just
do it. It was sort of his Yoda moment.
