You have got to be kidding me right?  That is going way overboard and is a load 
of rubbish, even on dial-up and per megabyte plans the amount of data and time 
required to display a HTML/rich email is pathetically small.  You would use 
more date/time deleting various emails about Ray's football teams of wine 
drinking than you would downloading and reading those few lines of colourful 
text.  If we are to be that concerned about how big our email is going to be 
then we should be using "txt speech" and reducing the number of characters in 
our emails further.
