I definitely love the Empire series. Granted I was about 12-15 years old,
but at the time I don't think I had read another book that featured a
female lead character who was so strong, yet sympathetic. Forgive my poor
memory, but I love the bug-like race of creatures that lived underground.
I can still remember the tension in the scenes when she visited them in
their tunnel system.

It's been at least 20 years since I last read the series. I think I know
what I'm reading next. I'm working on Game of Thrones at the moment. My
colleagues at work keep pressing me to read some of Brian Sanderson's
stuff, but I haven't bit the bullet yet.
