For something light try the Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne or the Dresden
series by Tim Butcher.

I am very fortunate to work in a library and find heaps of great books in
the YA section e.g. Tamora Pierce or Garth Nix, although I am reluctant to
recommend them as some adults become offended at the thought of reading a
“children’s book”. For quick read (in one sitting) you might even like
Clemency Pogue Fairy Killer (can’t remember the author).

Next time you are at your local Library check out the YA and Junior section,
you never know what you might find. Hint Hint!!! if you are not already a
member. I use it as a try before you buy system. My kids can’t understand
why I keep buying books when I have them at work for free!!! Most Libraries
will also take member recommendations for purchase if there is a new author
you would like to try but don’t want to buy the book in case you don’t like
him or her.

Here endeth the sermon!!

Love

Elizabeth

We've done this all before, which is a bit of fun. I started a list of all
of the recommendations last time, so I will find it, and combine it with the
recommendations this time. It was mentioned that it should be put on
Crydee.com, but was squashed, as it might appear to be recommendations from
Ray.

Of course, I can't believe that no-one mentioned some of the more well-known
authors, I guess that it goes without saying, but I'm going to say (write)
it anyway, Terry Pratchett - Discworld Series, Robert Asprin - Myth Series,
Janny Wurts - The Cycle of Fire Series

For an Australian twist, Sara Douglass - Axis Series

I have a personal library of over 1000 books, probably half I haven't read
yet (for some reason, I keep re-reading about 30 odd books by the same
author, strange that!), and I have found that most of the recommendations
are in there, which promises years of good reading :-)
