I find it interesting that, for instance, No 84 The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart is book one of four books in what is the Merlin Cycle, where as other sets/trilogies/etc are listed as the set. That and I wonder if, for REF, if everyone considered the Midkemia Cycle (my name for the entire series) instead of just The Riftwar Saga. that said, I've only read a quarter of the list thus far. While predicatable that LOTR would be num 1, I am thrilled that a number of my faves are on this list including Goodkind, Martin, Jordan and Erikson

On the other hand, you kind of want to tell the author of the article to go read the Mara books, and ask for her opinion on the Mara character. But, yeah. I'm pretty much in agreement with the author's comments. I've read a couple of them for nostalgia reasons, but hey -- some of these are only suitable for lit-crit courses in university. rip * see REF's comments on opinions. this post is rife with my opinion.
