Hardcovers look really nice on the shelf, however as far as actual reading goes I find them to be the most uncomfortable. Paperbacks are for me the most comfortable to actual hold and read.

However I now use my kindle app to purchase the books for portability, as travelling means I always have my phone and very little space for books in luggage. I have implemented the policy that once I have purchased and read the book, I then track down the hardcopy to put on my bookshelf at home.
