I agree, the cat really needs to see a vet.
Is there a shelter or humane society near by that has clinics?
Our shelter has spay/neuter clinics twice weekly, but time is put aside for "hardship" cases..The vets will do an exam, run the bloodwork, then advisse what further treatment or options are available.
In cases, when a client can NOT afford a reg vet, our vets will treat patient at a pittance (sp) of the cost. Also, they will Rx meds at Less than cost..
I guess we are lucky to have such a caring org. We do not like to see ANY animal be denied necessary medical care just due to the god almighty $$$'s.
