Bramble has had sooo sooo many treatments in the 2 months or so that I've
had him.
He has had antirobe for his skin and gums - his skin is much better
now. Again for his bacterial folliculitis he had antirobe plus grisovin and
iodine for his ringworm. He has had ovarid to help his skin and help increase
his appetite so he has gained half a kilo now and we are weaning him off the
ovarid as long term effects can include diabetes. He had one shot only of
steroids when he was very itchy. He had some antibiotics that I can't remember
the name of for the keritonitis which cleared that and he had the interferon
omega FIV protocol to kick the calicivirus in touch which it did. However Buddy
had symptoms which she fought off naturally herself and Bramble has a
bit of a runny nose again. The vet says she doesn't know if it would be calici
again but he goes back to see the vet tomorrow so I'll see what they say.
Overall he is much much better in himself. (And of course in between all
that he had those nasty seizures after the revolution - they have calmed a lot
and he only has very mild barely noticeable ones now and then). He had a week of
transfer factor but then got clever and refused to take it so he doesn't have
that now. I give all of them a multi-herbal vitamin from Denes - have no idea if
it works or not but his coat is much shinier. And he takes his fortekor for his
heart murmer which is less noticeable now.
I think that one of the biggest tonics for him is knowing I am trying to
care for him and feeling loved and getting the tlc. Buddy and Minstrel are
looking after him too now - they keep going over to kiss and wash him - but they
stayed away when he was ill. I wonder if he has herpes due to having had the
keritonitis and the runny nose again - he also scratched his nose and made it
bleed - the vet said he has just scratched it but I am concerned it may be a
little ulcer because it did that last time he had calici - but we shall see
what the boss man vet says tomorrow.
He has done well considering that the other vet was writing him off and
demanding euthanasia about 6 weeks ago.
