Jen, be aware that Simon had multicentric lymphoma, which is the kind least responsive to chemo and also the kind that people normally detect later due to absence of palpable masses and due to it not affecting behavior until it spreads from the lymph nodes into the liver or bone marrow.  Simon got 2 months from the chemo and steroids, but he had the worst kind of lymphoma for chemo and he was very sick by the time it was detected-- he got bright yellow, in fact, before he was hospitalized and started on chemo.
