I took your advice and called back to bug my vet's office some more. I
did get a call back from the Internist on duty. He thinks the
possibility of it being Toxo, even with an immune compromised kitty is
like 5 out of 100. He rattled off all the things it could be to cause
shallow breathing. The felv itself, heart problems, fluid on his
lungs... He suggested I bring him in on an emergency basis and at least
get an xray. He's not sure who will be there to read it though. I'm
hesitating, but I still don't think I'm going to bring Spence in when I
know a competent vet isn't there to read results. I'm climbing the
walls here. Thanks everyone for helping me through this. I have a call
into Jasmine, my AC. I'm hoping she can give me better insights.

Nina, call a DIFFERENT vet clinic. Tell them your vet is not returning
calls and that you are desperate, they might be able to help. OR, call
yours relentlessly, like every 10 minutes, call back again. Drive the
answering service nuts, they will put you on priority just so they
don't have to continue to be bothered.
