I took your advice and called back to bug my vet's office some more. I did get a call back from the Internist on duty. He thinks the possibility of it being Toxo, even with an immune compromised kitty is like 5 out of 100. He rattled off all the things it could be to cause shallow breathing. The felv itself, heart problems, fluid on his lungs... He suggested I bring him in on an emergency basis and at least get an xray. He's not sure who will be there to read it though. I'm hesitating, but I still don't think I'm going to bring Spence in when I know a competent vet isn't there to read results. I'm climbing the walls here. Thanks everyone for helping me through this. I have a call into Jasmine, my AC. I'm hoping she can give me better insights. Nina

Nina, call a DIFFERENT vet clinic. Tell them your vet is not returning calls and that you are desperate, they might be able to help. OR, call yours relentlessly, like every 10 minutes, call back again. Drive the answering service nuts, they will put you on priority just so they don't have to continue to be bothered.
