Hi and welcome. Usually, in my experience at least and from what goes on on this list, loss of appetite does not come and go. If he really is eating a lot on some days and not on others, I would suspect he is just picky or that he has something going on with his digestive track (if he is getting nauseous or has heartburn or something sometimes). Any diarhhea or vomiting? Any weight loss?
