It is driving me crazy that they, (the FDA, MF, Hills, who knows who
else), is aware of this US distributor of the Chinese wheat gluten, but
they won't "disclose" the information. Who the hell are they
protecting? Certainly not us or our animals. All I can pray is that we
are relatively "safe" by excluding all products, (wet, dry, or gravy
style), that contain any wheat gluten whatsoever. At this point I can
only pray that the damn labeling is accurate. It's so ironic that we
just had a discussion about feeding less expensive types of food in
order to make ends meet and provide for our charges as best we can. Who
would have guessed that so much of the food we serve has it's ingredient
origins in the same unreliable place, whether we thought it was
"quality" or not? Should we be concerned about all forms of
grain/rice? I don't have much confidence that our protectors at the FDA
are on top of any of this, or if they are, that they would let us in on
their findings.
Sorry for the rant, but I'm feeling so helpless.

Looks like some dry food is being recalled, this is getting
extremely scary, I think I'm going to have to start cooking for them
again. You know this is only the beginning.
