Good long-term advice. Also, FYI, Augmentin is the same as clavamox so if you have any clavamox around for the cats, you can take that yourself. (I usually buy the clavamox tablets or unmixed powder from www.1drugstore-online.com so I usually do have some in the house.)

Now, the next time you're bitten -- immediately cwash the wound under running water and squeeze out some blood. That squeezes out stuff that might have been on the teeth and is now under your skin too. Then pour on or submerge your hand in alcohol or peroxide. (Got this advice from my mother. It's worked for both of us for decades.)

I hope Nod shows signs of guilt. When my own personal cats have bitten me, they usually get this really guilty look on their faces and want to make up later. (You can enhance those feelings of guilt by pretending to lick your "paw" and whimpering a bit while shooting accusatory looks their way.)

DeDe, this is great advice. I was put onAugmentin last fall for a cat
bite, a nip really, & my immune system was down from stress, & ended up
with Cdiff (clostridium difficile). The Augmentin erased all the good
flora in my GI tract. It was awful. I lost 30 pounds in 2 months & am
still trying to deal with it. So next cat bite I will do what you
suggest & not take antibiotics unless I really have to.
