There are different approaches to using oral interferon, which I understand is produced naturally by the body. One theory I know of, is that FELV kitties may be low in interferon and need daily supplementation, not 7 on/off (or 3 on/off).
I think the on/off approach is because they think it encourages the kitty to make his/her own interferon in the off days. Im not sure why they choose 3 days or 7 days. I have usually done ONLY the daily supplementation, although this fall I've been missed a day every now and then.
