oh, i'm sorry--but thank you for loving maybelline so much, because that's
what is most important.
as everyone else has said, there is no danger to your cats in the room--the
virus is considered very fragile, and does not remain active outside
FLUIDS/the cat's body long at all. while there is recent research that says
that active virus has been found in dried secretions much longer than the
minutes/hours originally believed, it has no real meaning, because a dried
secretion with an unknown amount of virus isn't something that's going to
get into another cat's bodily fluids. ie, it's interesting science, but with
no real applicability.

incidentally, if your cats are all vaccinated, there's even less to worry
about, as in virtually nil, even with another FeLV+--if your cats are truly
negative (testing negative again, preferably with the IFA, 60-120 days after
the first test), and vaccinated, they will fit into that lovely category
where there is NO research showing that vaccinated, true negatives living
with true positives (tested as above, twice, far enough apart; or
symptomatic).

i think that most of us here started out with exactly the same fears that
you have, but have learned over the years that our companions in this
journey of love and loss know a lot more about the science than a lot of the
experts do.
