Hey Laura,

I would really support treating early on before symptoms start. Once you
start having problems they go downhill fast and it is heartbreaking to
watch. The injections seem to help even once symptoms start, but the longer
you wait the harder it is to treat because so many other things can happen.
You have to fight the anemia, the anorexia, the secondary infections and
potentially leukemia, lymphoma or sarcoma. LTCI has very few side effects.
I have an email from Imulan that gives the number for your vet to call if
they would like more information. Let me see what other things I have and I
will forward them.

With respect to LTCI and interferon in combination, I know it is being used
by some in this group. I am not aware of a drug interaction. They do
recommend not using prednisone in combination with LTCI as it depresses the
effect. That is the only medication that I recall being cautioned about. I
will check.
