shadow never had any weakness, just a sudden paralysis.  took him to missou vet 
school er at 11 pm.  took 3 hours and he screamed all the way every time we hit 
a bump in the road.  diagnosis was a tumor on his spine.  since he was 18 and 
the posibility of recovering use of his legs and bladder control was not good, 
we decided to let him go rather than put him thru surgery that he might not 
survive.
