I think it helped with fleas. But lately (new cats) it isn't accepted as well. When we have "movie night" we make popcorn, put an olive oil/butter combo on it (trying to reduce the butterfat) then put the brewer's yeast on. Very tasty. This is for us humans, mind you. The cats always try to lick out the bowls, which I discourage because of the fat content.
