Hi Rachel
I tried the L-Lysine "human" tablets for my cat and he threw up! Maybe
someone knows how to dose it down, but I felt it was risky. In fact, he
never tolerated the vet's product, either. Maybe it's just him.
Good luck.
I know it is good for humans as when I get a cold sore it knocks it right
out (caution: can cause constipation).

Subject: [Felvtalk] L-Lysine

My vet has a pharmacy mix up a cat suitable dosage of liquid L-Lysine (with
fish flavoring). It is quite expensive and I always have some left over. I
was wondering if anyone knows if this stuff can still be used after the "use
by" date or not?

Also I've seen in health food stores lysine capsules. I was wondering if
anyone uses that for their cat and in what dosage? Or if anyone knows if
that would be something that could be done? I figured it would probably be
okay if the conversions were right but since the mix I get from the pharmacy
also contains some sort of fish flavor that may change the ml so I don't
know.

Thank you for any help.
