Hello, My cat Hobbes was just diagnosed with feline leukemia. He's 11 years old and the vet thinks he contracted the disease when he was young, before he got the vaccine shots. He was going to the vet for a normal yearly check-up, when he suddenly fell down and seemed to be in a seizure. Luckily I was just leaving for the vet. The family has noticed that he's really slowed down, but we thought it was just age. The vet said that Hobbes's pupils were dialated and wouldn't constrict with light, but that should go away if it was from the seizures. It's been a few days and the pupils are still dialated, but there hasn't been anymore seizures. The vet found the leukemia when he did blood work, and the white blood cell count was low. We were told the seizures are probably caused by a mass in the brain, which in turn is caused by the disease. I'm just shocked because we thought he always had his shots, and he doesn't seem "sick", just slow. I'm now waiting for the vet to call back, and am at a loss about what to do. Thank you for any information, and I'm praying for all of your cats.
