Dear Rebecca,
You're not bothering anyone, we're all here for each other. I just lost my darling
Chloe, and have lost so many others over the past few years, and everytime the whole
group has been there for me.
Please don't beat yourself up for not knowing more than you knew. There are a lot of
things I might have done differently if I had known before I took her in that Sunny
was FeLV positive. In fact, I probably wouldn't have taken her and so wouldn't have
had so much grief and pain for the past three years. But I also would have missed
knowing some of the most beautiful, wonderful happy cats who ever lived. I wouldn't
have met some of the finest people I've ever known. We learn from everything that
happens to us, and each thing we learn makes up a better person. What you've learned
in taking care of Aspen will help Li'l Rio beat this horrible disease. (You do know
that with that name he's almost guaranteed to hit 15 pounds?!)
So hang tough. What you're feeling isn't the weight of the world on your shoulders,
it's a lot of arms in one collossal virtual hug.
