Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and learned a lot from you all, and I think It's time I introduced myself. My name is Jo, I have two kitties with Felv. DiDi is 5 1/2 months old, a neighbor boy brought her to me at the age of about 4 weeks, she was emaciated and unconscious but a little KMR turned her into a ball of energy and health, or so I thought. At the age of 4 /12 months she suddenly became very ill, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. I had already had her tested for FELVat the age of 7 weeks, she was negative. She was tested again, Elisa and IFA and was positive on both. :-( I took my other 3 cats in to be tested, and one came up positive too. Tuffy, my two year old guy that I trapped at McDonalds when he was just about 8 weeks old. He had tested negative at the age of 12 weeks and was fully vaccinated. So I guess you all know exactly how I feel right now. If I tell you I'm devastated you'll nod your heads knowingly. DiDi was put on Clavamox for the diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. She relapsed for about 24 hours, but I had skipped a dosage and she recovered quickly, she has been fine for 4 weeks, you wouldn't even know she was sick! But she is still on the Clavamox and I dread taking her off it. Tuffy was very listless, and his appetite dwindled to nothing, and he took to his bed, well, actually under the bed, but he is feeling much better now. He's eating, just baby food though, and about a quarter cup a day of Nutro for kittens. I have them both on Interferon, COQ10, and Hi-vite vitamins. I'm daily dosing with the Interferon even though I was told 7 on, 7 off. I've been researching continuous dosing and I think that may be the way to go, but I also noticed someone else on this board mention 3 weeks on, 1 week off. and that seems like a good protocol too. So thanks for listening, I'd really like to meet you all. Who are you and who are your kitties and what is their story if you have time? Also, I have two negatives, I don't want to leave them out. Sabrina, 4 1/2 years old taken from a feral mother that a friend trapped and gave a forever home to. She was 10 weeks old and pretty wild herself, but not anymore, she's my love bug. Fox, found by a friend on a Los Angeles freeway during rush hour of all places! He was about 6 months old, tame but starved, he's 3 years old now and he has some behavior problems, but we love him to pieces. Thanks again for listening.
