Jolene, Jack is feeling much better today. it was like night and day. today she will jump up on anything and is romping around with my other cat. that injection really helps her. hopefully that will help and she won't be sick anymore. If it is fleas bothering her, the advantage and steroid injection should fix her right up. My rainbow angel Puss suffered from flea allergy and one bite would make her miserable. And the advantage and shot always made her feel better quickly. So if Jack is not improving, my guess is that it isn't fleas bothering her. And since your vet has offered his diagnosis already, you probably need a second opinion. Good luck, Jolene JILL FRANKLIN wrote: well, i took jack to the vet today. she said that fleas may be bothering jack. does that sound like a reasonable explanation? to recap her problem: she doesn't like to be petted on her back, and sometimes she doesn't even want anyone to come near her. today she was laying on my bed and she would meow at me if i even came near her. it wasn't a nice meow either. more of a "i'm in pain, can't you do something" meow. today the vet found black stuff on her back in the fur and said that probably fleas were bothering, but i haven't seen fleas, and my other cat nor jack ever scratch. the vet gave her a steroid injection and i put advantage on her when i got home. but that seems like a weird diagnosis to me. i would think she would scratch or bite at her back but she doesn't. she just does not want to be touched. she won't jump up on anything unless she absolutely has to. does that sound right to anyone else? i need some thoughts from you all thanks, Jill and Jack Sometimes it's the smallest decisions that can pretty much change your life forever.
