Well I'm home from the vet and Buddie is still there. Her x-ray
showed her lungs to be clear, no cancer spread there that we can tell.
It does however show her liver is a bit more enlarged and her spleen
also seems to be enlarged a bit. Her bloodwork is really bad, her white
count jumped from 35,000 to 81,000 very high so the infection is
raging. She is now anemic at 18, she was 28 last Friday (all of these
numbers are comparing now to last Friday), her potassium is lower hence
the weakness. My vet feels her open mouth breathing may be pain
related, because the liver sits right under the diaphragm and it may be
painful for her to breathe since her liver is enlarged. She is going to
get a feeding tube alittle after 1 PM, she is very weak so she needs all
the prayers you can muster at that time to get through the
anesthetizing, my vet is only going to give her the minimal needed and
wake her up immediately after.

She did have a concern that the cancer is now in the spleen and possibly
in her bone marrow because of her anemia, but she did a slide to look
for lymphocytes and said it is inconclusive, she is sending to to the
pathologist to look at. If she has any epogen she is going to give her
some to help her compromised bone marrow, but she said it does look like
her red blood cells are still producing because she saw some cells with
nucleuses (sp?). The infection is getting the better of her for now,
but hopefully once we get some food into her she will have a fighting
chance and I know my Buddie is a fighter. We just need the strength to
get through putting the tube in.

Once she is awake enough from the procedure a tech will bring her home
to me (I live 3 minutes away by car). We have a hellofva battle to
fight but we're up for it!!!

PS. Thank you everyone for the support and prayers and I hope all of
your furkids are doing OK. For those on the wonderful supportive lists
I belong to, I know there have been a few losses in the last couple of
days and my heart goes out to those parents who have lost a furchild.
Please know they are still with you just in a different way. Take care
and my deepest sympathies to you all for your losses. Heaven has
several new special angels this week.
