In my opinion, no! Absolutely not!
FeLV positive kitties should NEVER receive ANY routine
annual Feline Vaccinations EVER!
This is because FeLV positive cats already have a
compromised immune system that makes them more
susceptible to secondary bacterial and viral
infections.
On EVERY label of EVERY vaccine bottle/jar reads: DO
NOT ADMINISTER TO A SICK CAT.
A FeLV positive cat, although asymptomatic, are still
classified as a sick feline.
Many immune compromised feline i.e. FeLV, FIV, FIP,
Feline Herpes, etc. have literally contracted the
diseases in which vaccine was supposed to protect
again.
The feline actually got sick from these routine annual
Feline Vaccinates! This is because the cat's immune
system could not successfully fight off the "Modified
Live" vaccine.
Also, if pet guardians are going to approve the
administration of "Killed" feline vaccines, the cat
might as well NOT be vaccinated at all. The "Killed"
version of ANY vaccine human, feline, canine, etc.
does not do squat. With the vaccine already dead, the
body will NOT recognize the virus(es) and actively
produce anti-bodies against possible future
infections. Basically, administrating a "Killed"
version vaccine is no different then injecting the
body with saline solution i.e. salt water.
Why do you think the FDA, family doctors, etc.
require that all humans get the "Modified Live"
version of the FLU SHOT?
Also, why do you think that 25% - 30% of FLU
vaccinated humans contract the FLU? These individuals
who were vaccinated against the FLU are healthy,
non-compromised people and they STILL contracted the
FLU anyway! Could you imagine the damage if these
folks were actually SICK before getting the vaccine?!
It is the same thing with routine annual Feline
Vaccinations. When vaccines are administered to a
"sick" kitty, the kitty will most likely contract
whatever was in the vaccine.
Whether the cat was vaccinated with the core
vaccinations of Rabies and FVRCP (the three-way combo
vaccine) that vaccinates against Panleukopenia,
Rhinotracheitis and the Calicivirus or the non-core
vaccination of Feline Leukemia. IF HE/SHE IS SICK, you
are putting him/her at risk of contracting these
diseases.
If the pet guardian chooses NOT to vaccinate their
kitty, be ABSOLUTELY sure that he/she NEVER gets out.
An unvaccinated cat MUST be strictly a indoor kitty
FOR LIFE.
Note: All Rabies vaccines are "Killed" versions. Makes
you wonder what kind of protection pet guardians and
veterinarians are providing to these animals with this
particular vaccine. A "Killed" vaccine does not
benefit anyone. Just another way to extract $10 - $20
dollars from pet guardians? I do not know. It never
made sense to me.

Hello! I got a postcard for my vet reminding me
that it was time for Killian's annual vaccinations a
few weeks ago (rabies and distemper). I have been
putting it off because I'm not sure that she should
be getting these vaccinations. She had them done a
year ago, that was before we knew that she was
felv+(or she many have not been at that time). The
vet knows that she has felv, it's where she was
tested. So my question is - Is it safe for felv
kitties to get these vaccinations?
