I don't know that much about FIP - so this is interesting. But I thought that FIP was not contagious, that it was a genetic mutation or something. Anybody?

The count could be higher next time he is tested. The good news is he
may be able to fight it off if it is FIP. If it is FIP .....there are 2
stages. The first & the second. As long as the cat is in the first stage
he will not act sick because he will not feel sick. If it is FIP and it
goes into the 2nd stage the bad news is the 2nd stage is fatle As for
your other cats....sometime ago when I had 18 cats I was fostering a cat
that came down with FIP in the 2nd stage. I really sweat it out for
several weeks because all of them had shard the same water bowls, etc.
I was really lucky none of my 18 cats came down with it. Or if they did
and fought it off I don't know. My vet said it would be a wast of money
to have them tested because if they did have it there was nothing that
could be done. Also 95% of the vets in the San Francisco area refuse to
give the FIV vaccine. About 3yrs after the vaccine came out Vets began
to feel the vaccine was giving cats FIV.
