I agree very strongly with this post. With as many cats needing homes as they do, what else can be done? 10 years in a loving home is better than 30 days in a shelter or 6 months on the street.

I, too mix, my positives and negatives. It's too hard to know if Coco had
FeLV all along or if she picked it up in your home....but does that make a
difference? They all leave us (and us, them). If you had not taken her or
your other babies, what would have become of them?? Not one of my cats
would be alive today if not for me taking and keeping them so FeLV or not,
they have a better life. I'm know you feel a twinge of what if it was your
fault...but it's not. Coco had a wonderful full life w/you and you gave
her the best gift--a loving home and help when she needed it. As for
running into the carrier...I had that happen with one of my cats, too. I
could never handle Praline and yet when she got kidney failure, she went
right into the carrier for her last trip to the vet....I think she knew it
meant an end to her suffering.

Here's to Coco--she is once again fat and happy!
