Wow, thanks you guys!  You gave me lots to work with here.  I sure appreciate it.  I am going down once again to look for Sophie, armed with fresh ideas.  I want to answer your mail soon and hope to have good news very soon.  I think Sophie is in the basement because she is so very timid and has never ventured above yet, although she very well could.  There are lots of beams and wooden cubbyholes down there so I keep thinking she went behind some of the wood somewhere.  Tad, I do have a table saw down there, too!  That is the first place I will look. 

   Thanks for the help on the pancreatitis issue, too.  I have copied and pasted your helpful input on to an email and sent it off to Chris right away.  I know she will appreciate it so much.
