I lost one years ago at a low cost vet that did 8 cats at the same time, assembly line style...My cat was dead from the anestheasa before he even touch her with the scalple...Too much anestheasa ????
That would make me very very angry. I know a woman who lost a foster during a spay recently (a border collie dog) and it's devastating when these routine procedures go horribly inexplicably awry.

what a tragedy. it's so tough to leave your loved ones in someone else's relatively unknown hands. I had this conversation the other day regarding those training facilities where you send your dog away to be boarded and trained. To me, that's bad news. I give the vet unsupervised access to my animals because i have to. i don't think i could willingly give someone else that kind of jurisdiction over my pets unless it was a similar situation, where i had no choice.
