Ditto.
What makes this group so wonderful for me as a newish member is its sheer kindness, supportiveness, and generosity in sharing information---information that I have found nowhere else, and certainly not from my vets. There is nobody in my physical life that has been a tenth as supportive in regard to my foster FeLV cats. Practically every email coming from a member is written in a carefully considered way. People take great care, in my view, not to hurt or offend.
We get enough flak and contentious comments in the everyday world -- this web group is a positive (no pun intended) refuge! I for one would like it to stay that way. Ong, maybe in your opinion, this is just you being you, and you're truly mystified by this response. But to be part of this group in a wholly constructive way---I haven't had much time to read in-depth email this week, but I can see you are astoundingly prolific--members really do need to fit in with the tenor of the group ie think about HOW they say what they say.( And if I've said anything here to offend I apologise in advance.)
(Pause.)
I just saw your last post, >> Did you miss that post or do you normally go off half-cocked<<<
Ong, you're out of line.
Kerry.

You didn't answer my question.  Why didn't you just ask?
OK, this contentiousness is getting to be a little disturbing.

Let's be honest, Ong, you have been a bit mysterious and vague since you arrived on the list. While we can all appreciate good information, I find it hypocritical to refuse to cite your own sources and then criticize another list member for using the phrase "it is said" and claiming it lacks credibility. What credibility do you have? I think it is important to understand the source of your information--I don't think it was hostile for anyone to ask if you were a vet and what your credentials are since you have been providing a lot of seemingly scientific information. The kind of information that generally needs a bibliography and credit given to an author. Plus, we have never seen you on this list before. I've seen Tad a bunch of times.

Don't get upset with us for questioning someone who comes out of the blue and who has, quite frankly, not been easy to talk to.

We don't know you and you've been a lot defensive and occasionally hostile to list members who have been here for a long time. While I am sure we all want to give everyone a chance to participate and learn from one another, and I certainly welcome new information and explanations for this illness, I am not finding this defensive back and forth very helpful.

Relax. I don't speak for anyone else on the list, just myself, but I cannot imagine I am the only one who has been bothered by this interchange.
