I'm very interested by your open prescription arrangement, Jill! No vet
ever suggested that to me, so thanks for that nugget of info.
I'm going to push for it now, esp as the compounds take 24 hours (more
at a holiday)--I've never got them the same day as they're prescribed,
plus, the vets have rarely agreed to prescribe without seeing the
patient first.
Will be thinking of you and Gary, and hoping she does just fine. Kerry

Thanks, Kerry.

Oh no, do not worry about alarming me. I have already
told my b/f that we need to be vigilant and aggressive
with any sign of infection. However, we haven't seen
ANY snot at all yet and only 3-4 sneezes per day. So
I figured we'd supplement the he** out of her this
long weekend and keep a good eye on her. If she
starts to get snotty or doesn't eat as much, she'll go
in to the vet right away. I'm just wondering if
there's another proven supplement I should try. I've
heard from vets that vitamin C can cause
bladder/kidney problems and is not proven effective
for virus protection anyway.

We actually have an open prescription for antiobiotics
at a local pharmacy that compounds it for us. The vet
did this for us so that we can give them to her at the
first sing of infection.

Right now she's still eating like a pig and every
night I talk to my b/f she's up to some kind of
trouble - very energetic. I'll be there all weekend
so I'll have a better idea myself. We may have turned
"hypervigilant" into "paranoid"! :)

Jill
