He gets Pepcid in the morning, and reglan 3x/day. He is not really
cuddled up anymore. He is more hiding and extremely out of it. He was lying in
that position stretched out on his stomach with his legs in front of him and his
head on the carpet between his paws, starting vacantly. It's a position
they only get into when very sick. About a half hour ago he did walk a little
ways to get into a cat bed, and is lying in that now with his head more
comfortably on the edge of it but with that same vacant look. I am hoping he is
just out of it from the cipro (I gave him a whole one, which I was told to do
and which I did 2 days ago without any bad effects). He is extremely pale
though so I think it is probably the anemia and the liver toxicity. He
does not want to be pet, which is hard. I do not know what to do, but since he
was rubbing against me and purring and eating a little as recently as 11 am this
morning, before the force-feeding, I am thinking I should just wait this out at
least until the morning if he does not get worse. He is not mewing or
crying or breathing funny or anything. Do you think this means he is not
in so much distress that I need to worry I am doing wrong by him by letting him
be?

know it's hard, but please try to be easy on yourself; you did what you thought was best and with love and good intentions. Is it possible that Simon might need an antacid when fed? I think I've been told to use Pepcid in the past. |
