First, does ffmpeg use the gnash code for conversion? 
(ie. if I report it as a problem to te gnash team, 
and they fix it, will this in turn make it work with 
ffmpeg?)

As for multiple images in the swf... isn't that how a 
swf is composed? Can you explain in more detail how 
this file is different from other swf files?  I 
didn't do anything special to create it.. I just 
used "wink".  On the list, there was mail about 
someone using Wink, and having ffmpeg seg fault.  
However, that problem was fixed, and the user was 
happy with the result.  If theirs converted okay, I'm 
not sure how mine would be any different.. :(
