Bobbi,

I use a bit of Downey in water, in a spray bottle. Or, if you have human
hair conditioner, you can use that, instead of Downey. Any human spray
on/leave in hair conditioner will work, too. 

Is the air dry where you are? Sometimes humidity, or lack of it, affects
the fiber, so that it's fly away and difficult to spin.
