I think you're working with painted roving? You could try redyeing just
the sections that have lost color. I haven't had any success with
roving, but if you follow the directions in one of the books that have
instructions, I expect it will work just fine. I used the microwave to
set dyes on painted skeins of handspun, and it worked great--far less
bleeding, in fact, than I've had on pot-dyed wools.
