Another thing about ratios--I do encourage spinnners who care about
their spinning to sit down and figure it out by tieing something to the
flyer and counting the turns. I found out that way that my Ashford
Traveler with the Lace Flyer didn't deliver the 40:1 ratio I thought it
was supposed to :) I went back and reread all the
advertising--everywhere the LF was advertised, they mentioned 40:1. But
the actual ratio for the Traveler is 30:1. The advertising often didn't
state the Traveler's ratios would be different.
Of course in retrospect, it was obvious, since the Traveler's wheel is
smaller :)
